3 Roads Communications, Inc. of Arlington, Virginia and Frederick, Maryland has just been named the winner of a prestigious Aurora Award for their television series Legends of Airpower.

The Aurora is an international competition that recognizes excellence in the fields of commercial, video and television production. 3 Roads won an award in the historical documentary category for the Legends of Airpower episode focusing on Senator John McCain.

Legends of Airpower is a documentary series that portrays the life and times of the greats of military aviation. The series is seen nationally on more than 250 public television stations, and internationally on Armed Forces Radio and TV (AFRTS).

Since it began distribution in September, 2000, Legends episodes have been broadcast more than nine thousand times on public television stations throughout the United States. It is expected that the ten thousandth broadcast of a Legends episode will occur sometime in February, 2003.

Currently, twenty-six episodes of Legends are in distribution. Another twenty-six episodes, featuring Legends such as Jim Lovell, Tex Hill, Chappie James, and Joe Foss, are in production.
