DISTRIBUTION MILESTONE
Series Will Have Ten Thousandth
Broadcast March 17th
Legends of
Airpower, the seminal
historic documentary series about America’s great aviators, is about to
have its ten thousandth broadcast on public television. The series
is produced by 3 Roads Communications, Inc., of Frederick, Maryland. The
milestone broadcast will occur at 12:00 noon on March 17th, St.
Patrick’s Day, when KLRU, Channel 18 in Austin, Texas will air
“Charles Lindbergh”. Fittingly, KLRU has broadcast episodes of
Legends of Airpower more times (106 total) than any other
station.
The series of 26
episodes has been broadcast on 246 public television stations, covering
eighty-four percent of the United States. Among the distribution
highlights are:

markets.

1613 broadcasts in top
twenty-five markets.

5567 broadcasts of 100s
series (started airing September 9, 2000)

4433 broadcasts of 200s
series (started airing October 2, 2001)

Executive Producer of Legends of Airpower. “It’s a testament
to the enduring legacy that these courageous aviators have left that
audiences of all ages still find inspiration in their stories.”
Twenty-six new
episodes of the series are now in production. New episodes focus on
aerospace legends such as Jim Lovell, Deke Slayton, Joe Foss, Scott
Crossfield, Robin Olds, Amelia Earhart and Chappie James.
All 52 episodes of the
series will begin simultaneous distribution on the Discovery Wings cable
network in April 2003.
